Summary of Position
This position will support new feature development across the enterprise suite of products. DevOps engineering is critical to building performant, next-generation of Teladoc Health products. The role requires a strong focus on automation and metrics, with the ability to build scalable, repeatable solutions using best in class technologies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Design, build, and optimize cloud infrastructure: architect, provision, and operate cloud services including compute, storage, databases, and container orchestration (e.g. Kubernetes), using Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g. Terraform), deployment automation, security controls, and release governance
Collaborate with developers to design cloud applications for optimal scaling, including content caching, compute optimization, load balancer configuration, and related platform capabilities
Define a long‑term vision for DevSecOps practices that meet the requirements and needs of the commercial platform and application teams
Develop and maintain CI/CD/CT pipelines: Build, own, and optimize automated pipelines for reliable deployments, integrating testing, security gates, and operational standards
Collaborate with Product, Software Development, and Quality Engineering teams to define, implement, and govern a state‑of‑the‑art Software Factory, reducing cycle time while improving quality and stability
Define and operationalize reliability engineering practices, including SLIs/SLOs, error budgets, incident response, post‑incident reviews, and continuous reliability improvements
Design and own end‑to‑end observability, including metrics, logs, traces, alerting, and dashboards to enable proactive monitoring and rapid root‑cause analysis
Collaborate with Operational, Development, and Architectural teams to ensure operational maturity across reliability, availability, scalability, performance, capacity, and security
Provide technical oversight and guidance to implementation teams, accounting for system inter-dependencies and audited regulatory compliance requirements
Support production readiness: Transition proof-of-concept environments into production, implement disaster recovery strategies, and define operational standards for resilience and reliability
Monitor and improve operations: Track DevOps metrics, monitor systems, and continuously enhance operational maturity and cost optimization
Influence roadmaps and participate in planning and prioritization, coordinating work across multiple development teams
Advocate DevOps practices and track DevOps maturity and KPIs across product teams
Drive cloud cost optimization and financial governance, balancing performance, reliability, scalability, and cost
Document infrastructure, designs, processes, and standards, and enable development teams to self-serve and adopt best practices
Communicate effectively with teams, share knowledge, and foster adoption of best practices across the organization

Qualifications Expected for Position
A bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical field — or equivalent experience that demonstrates the same depth.
Experience configuring, managing, and troubleshooting systems of scale (cloud, virtualization, distributed networks, colocation)
Experience building and maintaining production systems within the AWS ecosystem and familiarity interacting with the AWS APIs
Experience in building and maintaining CI/CD/CT pipelines
Experience writing automation scripts using scripting languages
Experience leading initiatives utilizing Infrastructure as Code and configuration management on virtual environments with technologies such as: Kubernetes, Docker, Ansible, and/or Terraform
Familiarity with software development lifecycle
Experience with version management and ticketing systems such as Git and Jira
Experience in implementing DevSecOps practices throughout infrastructure and pipeline design
Experience with compliance and regulatory standards and frameworks such as SOC 2 Type 2, ISO 27001, or HITRUST
Hourly Rate Range
$62.50 to $72.12/hour
